My love of cooking definitely started with baking. Again, this is not a comprehensive list, but here's a few of my favorite and often-referenced baking books. I also get a lot of recipes for baked goods from my
favorite general cookbooks, but these are the best baking books I own.
- The America's Test Kitchen Family Baking Book. America's Test Kitchen definitely appeals to the scientist in me. They test their recipes over and oven in a scientific manner to make them the best they can be. I'm a big fan of the TV show as well as their magazine, Cook's Illustrated.
- Martha Stewart's Cookies. As much as I've resisted, I can't help but be a fan of the Martha Stewart brand. I'm a subscriber to Martha Stewart Living and own multiple books by Martha Stewart. Although I can't say I love how she's conducted herself as a businessperson, this lady knows her stuff and has created an empire from the ground up.
